Photography Pass for Godiva Festival

PR/PRESS EXPERIENCE – As a Community Leader for Igers Coventry and Warwickshire, I was very fortunate to receive a Photography Pass for Godiva Festival courtesy of Coventry City Council and Coventry 2021.

How do you apply for a Photography pass for Godiva?

If you would like a Photography pass for Godiva Festival, you can apply via the Godiva Festival website. Make sure you register your interest early in the year to try to avoid disappointment!

The Levellers, Godiva Festival 2019

Friday night’s headliner was the Levellers, which meant a pleasant evening of folk-rock nostalgia for me. The majority of the crowd seemed to be Levellers Fans. They danced and sang enthusiastically to “One Way”, “Beautiful Day”, and “Fifteen years”. It was a great atmosphere, plus seeing and hearing their famed didgeridoo was an absolute joy.

Dodgy, Godiva Festival

The only time I saw this band was at Glastonbury Festival in 1995. So, this was another pleasurable flashback experience. Dodgy played a relaxed and charming 90s Britrock set at Godiva, which included “Melodies haunt you”, and “Staying Out for the Summer”.

Feeder, Saturday night on the main stage

Feeder had the privilege of the sunset mainstage slot on Saturday night, they indulged the crowd with plenty of 90s sing-a-long Britrock classics. Another fabulous live set with old favourites, such as “Feeling a Moment”, “Buck Rodgers and “Just a day”.

Capturing the crowd enjoying Godiva Festival

My favourite images from Godiva Festival are the ones with the audience enjoying themselves. I loved having a photography pass for the Godiva Festival. It was a great experience, I was able to capture some moments of pure joy from amongst the crowd and from the press pit.

There was some controversy before this year’s Godiva Festival due to the implementation of the Β£2 a day ticket charge. In response, I wrote a guest blog for Coventry Bloggers which highlights a number of reasons why the Godiva Festival is great for the city of Coventry.
