Our journey together began in a rather unexpected way. In 2015, Brett began following Regan on Instagram after seeing some of her photos from a photography meet-up they both attended. Bonding over our shared passion for capturing breathtaking landscapes and exploring new destinations, we found ourselves spending more time together, planning trips and honing our photography skills side by side
One of our most memorable early trips was to North Wales, where we visited several popular photography destinations.
We left home before dawn to arrive in Wales for sunrise and didn’t leave until around midnight – a proper long day. One of the highlights involved learning that Buddy, our staffy, was scared of heights, bridges, and water. Watching him get lower and lower until he was practically belly-crawlling across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct was rather unexpected and rather amusing!
After visiting Lake Bala, Brett drove his car down a long undulating road, making Regan feel as if she had been transported into a ’90s car commercial—having “the drive of her life”, complete with a dramatic power ballad playing in the background. This trip solidified our bond and confirmed how perfectly our travel styles complemented each other.
In 2023, we had our dream destination wedding in Rhodes – a magical experience filled with history, breathtaking views, and the incredible warmth of the local people. It was a truly wonderful way to start our married life, and we wouldn’t change a thing.
We’re both self-taught photographers who’ve been learning through trial, error, and plenty of practice for over a decade. Every photo you see on our blog is taken by us (unless stated otherwise), and it’s our way of sharing the world through our eyes.

Brett is passionate about landscape, astro, and travel photography, and his trusty wide-angle lens helps him capture stunning moments from every adventure. He’s the one who plans our trips, drives us to amazing destinations, and flies the drone when the moment calls for it.
For Regan, photography isn’t just about taking photos – it’s about creating memories and finding beauty in everyday moments. From cityscape twilight shots to capturing the glowing colours of sunsets, her love for dreamy nature scenes and adventure drives her creativity.
Regan started using the handle @duskyblueskies in 2017, inspired by those soft, dusky blue tones that signal the end of an adventurous or fulfilling day—when you finally pause, relax, and just take it all in.
While our full-time jobs keep us grounded, we make the most of every opportunity to travel. We’re grateful for the annual leave that allows us to experience new places, cultures, and different perspectives. Whether it’s a weekend getaway or an extended trip, we always try to bring you along with us through our stories, photos, and travel tips.
Over the years, Regan has lived and worked in several countries, from teaching English in Seoul to working as a teacher mentor in Sabah, Borneo. She’s even traveled solo across Asia for over six months!
